My first entry in this log which will record my journey as a student on the BA Hons Fine Art course with the OCA. I enrolled on the course in the same week that I went to see the film, “Loving Vincent” so perhaps it would be appropriate to say a few words about that.
The film is the first to be entirely painted – Van Gogh’s paintings are used as backdrops for the subjects to come alive and tell the story which deals with the circumstances surrounding his death. I loved it, and couldn’t help thinking about what the artist himself would have thought if he could have seen it.
Van Gogh’s single-minded dedication to his work as an artist is an example which I would like to think I could live up to, but we’ll see!
